On May 19, the Speaker of the National Assembly being in Bishkek to take part in the visiting sitting of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council met with the Speaker of Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nigmatulin.
Welcoming his colleague Ararat Mirzoyan has expressed conviction that with joint efforts it is possible to give new impetus to the Armenian-Kazakh inter-parliamentary cooperation.
The Speaker of the National Assembly has noted with satisfaction that the political dialogue consistently develops between the two countries and the inter-state contacts activate.
The sides recorded the readiness of active cooperation within the frameworks of the Eurasian Economic Union and stressed the mutual interest in the further effective development of bilateral economic cooperation.
According to Ararat Mirzoyan, the parliamentary component has its special role in the Armenian-Kazakh relations, marking the role of the Inter-parliamentary Friendship Groups. In this aspect the Head of the legislative body has stated with satisfaction that in the near future the first sitting of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups of Armenia and Kazakhstan of will be held in Nur-Sultan.

The Speaker of the Kazakh Parliament Nurlan Nigmatulin, congratulating Ararat Mirzoyan on being elected in the office of the Speaker of the National Assembly, expressed readiness to promote the development of bilateral relations.
Both sides highly assessed the role of the Armenian community of Kazakhstan in the political, economic, cultural and public life. The Speaker of the Mazhilis has presented the deputy of Armenian origin Narine Mikayelyan, included in his delegation, who is a member of the Committee on Legislation and Judicial and Legal Reform. It has been stressed that the Armenians’ Cultural Unions function in 11 cities of Kazakhstan.
Nurlan Nigmatulin thanked Ararat Mirzoyan for accepting the invitation to take part in the Conference of the Eurasian Countries’ Speakers to be held in Nur-Sultan on September 24-25 of this year. In response, Ararat Mirzoyan has underlined that the RA National Assembly greatly highlights that platform and has informed that the Armenian side will propose to hold the next sitting in Yerevan.
Nurlan Nigmatulin invited Ararat Mirzoyan to pay an official visit to Kazakhstan for continuing the dialogue.
At the end of the meeting the Speaker of the Mazhilis expressed his gratitude to Ararat Mirzoyan for including the RA NA deputies in the Observation Missions of the Inter-Parliamentary Organizations on 9 June 2019.
