On October 23, the RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov met with the IPA CIS Council Secretary General Yury Osipov in Tavricheskiy Palace of Saint Petersburg.

During the meeting the issue of the RA NA delegation’s participation in the works of the IPA CIS was debated. Eduard Sharmazanov has noted that the IPA CIS is an important parliamentary platform in our region for the debate of different problems. In this context the RA NA Deputy Speaker proposed to organize a scientific conference-exhibition dedicated to the 70^th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide by the UN General Assembly.

The sides discussed issues concerning the regional security, highlighting the exclusively peaceful settlement of the conflicts. “We should rule out the bellicose rhetoric and the xenophobia campaign for that goal. The sale of the weapon to Azerbaijan promotes the deconstructive steps of that country,” the NA Deputy Speaker said.
