On January 19, the parliament continued the work of the regular sittings and debated in the second reading the draft law on Amending the Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia authored by the Government.
As the RA Minister of Environment Hakob Simidyan has presented, the rates of the environment tax for the goods causing damage to the environment are set. The ozone depleting substances are also included in the group of those goods. As a result of continuous improvement of the legislative regulations, the import of the mentioned substances (or part of them) to the Republic of Armenia is already banned, therefore the setting of the environmental tax for their circulation is not realistic. The key rapporteur proposed to return the draft law under debate to the phase of the proposals in written form from the first to the second reading for revising of the draft law.
The parliament also debated in the second reading the draft law on Making Addenda to the Law on Licensing.
