The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan together with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, the President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan, the deputies of the Civil Contract of the National Assembly and other officials paid tribute to the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims in Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex.
Alen Simonyan laid a wreath and flowers at the Eternal Flame perpetuating the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims.
The high ranking officials visited the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, got acquainted with the temporary exhibition titled “Tracing the Armenian Schools in the Ottoman Empire: An Enlighted Nation’s Certificates.” It presents the once fruitful activity of about 2000 Armenian schools in Western Armenia, Cilicia and the Armenian-populated areas of the Ottoman Empire, which was interrupted because of the Armenian Genocide. The temporary bilingual exhibition consisting of sixteen panels (in Armenian and in English) present about thirty original graduation certificates, as well as photographs, textbooks and other school supplies.
