On December 20 in the National Assembly the solemn awarding ceremony of the research works competition jointly announced by the OSCE Yerevan Office and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly was held. The competition organized within the framework of the Assistance Programme of the Development Capacities of the RA National Assembly, to which the NA employees’ submitted researches were dedicated to the comparative policy analysis of the solution of a number of problems in different spheres, had an objective to encourage and assist the development capabilities in the National Assembly, promote the rise of the awareness on modern principles and best models being internationally used towards the various issues of legal regulation and the perception level.

As the NA Chief of Staff Gurgen Dumanyan has noted, this research competition is one of the best results of effective cooperation of the NA and the OSCE Yerevan Office. In his word, the competition has given opportunity the NA employees to develop their research abilities, which will be possible later to effectively use in practical works. Thanking the OSCE Yerevan Office for the initiative and the NA employees for participation, Gurgen Dumanyan expressed confidence that such effective cooperation would be of continuous nature.

Congratulating the participants the Head of the OSCE Yerevan Office Andrey Sorokin has expressed satisfaction that this competition, which has become traditional, gives opportunity to encourage and develop the mental work and the creative approach to the work. In his word, this is just the resource, in which Armenia is especially rich.

The works submitted by the competition participants have been anonymously sent to Copenhagen, where the OSCE PA Secretariat is, the employees have made a decision for the best researches. Andrey Sorokin has highly assessed all presented works, noting that they have been distinguished with their analytical component, rich and useful information. He handed over the authors who had won and were distinguished with their works monetary awards and presents. The Head of the Internal Audit Division Aram Shakaryan and Chief Specialist of the same division Armen Simonyan of the Staff of the National Assembly, who authored the analysis “The Contribution of the Information Technologies For the Efficiency Rise of the Parliament Works” were given the first prize.They were also granted "The Best Teamwork” prize for the work “The Comparative Analysis: Successful Examples of the Legislative Reforms (in certain spheres and comprehensive) Aimed at Boosting the Small and Medium Entrepreneurship.”

Congratulating the winners the NA Chief of Staff Gurgen Dumanyan expressed hope that next year the participation in the competition would be more active and effective.
