On July 11 the RA NA Standing Committee on Territorial Management and Local Self-Government organized a working consultation, which was moderating the Committee Chairman Stepan Margaryan.

The members of the Committee together with the heads of a number of communities, representatives of NGOs and employees of the municipalities discussed their recommendations regarding the problems of the local self-government sphere.

The Deputy Chairman of the Association of the Elders Union NGO Artak Petrosyan informed the attendees a working group had been created, which had discussed and submitted to the Committee nine recommendations on the local self-government.

The Committee members touched upon the sounded recommendations and made clarifications.

Summing up the discussion, the Committee Chairman Stepan Margaryan expressed readiness to again discuss the proposals and if necessary, work out a legislative initiative.

He, as well as the Deputy Chairman Araik Hovhannisyan highlighted such discussions and proposed to deepen the cooperation.
