On February 10, the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs Koryun Nahapetyan met with Johannes Douma, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the RA.
The Committee Chairman congratulated the newly appointed Ambassador and talking about the development of the inter-state relations, especially highlighted the parliamentary cooperation. Koryun Nahapetyan touched upon the establishment of the relations between the parliamentary committees, the mutually beneficial cooperation of the delegations of the two states in the parliamentary structures.
The Ambassador of the Netherlands expressed willingness to promote the possible cooperation of the relevant committees of the NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs and the House of Representatives of the Netherlands and the exchange of experience of the parliamentary oversight.
Koryun Nahapetyan highly assessed the position of the Netherlands in the recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
The sides also discussed issues relating to the provision of security in the South Caucasus, the Syrian crisis, the new possibilities of Armenia-Iran cooperation.
