On March 16, the parliament continued the work of the four-day sittings passing in the first reading the package of bills on Amendment to the RA Law on Value Added Tax and on Amendments to the RA Law on Value Added Tax, in the second reading the bill on Amendments to the RA Law on Education, as well as the bill on Amendments to the RA Law Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly and ratifying the agreement on the Implementation of a Pilot Project to Place Control (Identification) Tags on Goods Classified as “Items of Clothing, Clothing Accessories and Other Items Made of Natural Fur” for 2015-2016 signed in Grodno on September 8, 2015.
The deputies welcomed the pupils and the teachers of Yerevan Khachik Dashtents High School N 114 who visited the parliament within the framework of the NA Open Doors programme.
Afterwards the deputies resumed debating the Annual Activity Programme of the RA State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (SCPEC) for 2016.
The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Vardan Ayvazyan touched upon the deputies’ sounded questions, the problems of the economic sphere, the control and the regulation of the market and talked about giving new legislative authorities to the SCPEC.
The deputies Naira Zohrabyan, Khosrov Harutyunyan, Edmon Marukyan, Nikol Pashinyan, Tigran Urikhanyan, Hrant Bagratyan, Samvel Farmanyan, Heghine Bisharyan, Gagik Jhangiryan, Mikayel Melkumyan, Vahe Enfiajyan, Aram Manukyan and Ishkhan Khachatryan presented their viewpoints on the programme.
The NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov delivered an extraordinary speech and highlighted the programme under debate both for the parliament and for the public. The NA Deputy Speaker urged his colleagues to work in the atmosphere of mutual trust and correctness and objectively assess the serious work done by the SCPEC. He has noticed that the SCPEC implements its activities stemming from the functions reserved to it by law. The NA Deputy Speaker proposed his colleagues to work together and if necessary, make legislative amendments.
The debate of the programme will continue at NA March 17 sitting.
According to the established order of the NA Rules of Procedure, the last sitting was allotted to the NA- Government Q & A session.
