At November 22 working sitting moderated by Khosrov Harutyunyan the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs debated the draft law on Ratifying the Treaty on the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).
Representatives of the NGOs, experts and lecturers from the Armenian State University of Economics (ASUE) attended the debate.
By the proposal of the Committee Chair the first four parts of the Code were debated.
The Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) adjunct to the RA Government Vakhtang Mirumyan noted that the Republic of Armenia also actively took part in the elaboration of the EEU Customs Code (9 parts from Articles 465).
The questions addressed to Vakhtang Mirumyan related to the provisions of the Customs Code, as well as numerous problems existing in the system.
The speaker has noted that, according to the decision of the Constitutional Court, the EEU Customs Code corresponds with the RA Constitution.
The SRC Deputy Chairman has noted that there are no essential differences in the Customs Codes of the EU and EEU, as both of them have been worked out in accordance with international laws and treaties.
