Ara Babloyan Receives Delegation Led by Deputy Speaker of RF FA State Duma

On October 11, the Speaker of the RA National Assembly Ara Babloyan received the delegation led by the Deputy Speaker of the RF FA State Duma Sergey Neverov.

Highly assessing the current level of the bilateral relations, the Speaker of the National Assembly highlighted the role of the parliamentary diplomacy and underlined the importance of the strengthening of the inter-parliamentary ties.

Ara Babloyan touched upon the continuity of the effective cooperation on the international parliamentary platforms.

Talking about the events in Armenia, the Head of the legislative body assured that the changes occurred in our country had not affected in any way on the strategic cooperation and centuries-old friendly relations existing between Armenia and Russia. In this context the Head of the Parliament all the decisions over the inner-political issues should be made within the framework of the political debates and mutual trust.

Thanking the NA Speaker for the warm reception, Sergey Neverov expressed conviction that the two peoples’ centuries-old friendship and alliance relations would continue to expand.

He also emphasized the development and the deepening of the Armenian-Russian inter-parliamentary relations and the cooperation within the CSTO PA and the IPA CIS.

The interlocutors discussed the agenda items regarding the holding of the plenary sessions of the CSTO PA Council and the Assembly to be held in Yerevan on October 29-30. The National Assembly is ready to organise the holding of the sessions at high level.

Other items of bilateral interests were also discussed at the meeting.
