State Revenue Committee in Framework of Support Programs Distributes about 9 bln AMD to Entities

At April 27 sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budget Affairs, the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) Edvard Hovhannisyan referred to the reference on the execution process of the state budget of nine months  for 2020 . He noted that due to the negative impact of the pandemic, a number of legislative amendments were implemented for the improvement of the administration and the business support for the mentioned period of time. In particular, it relates to the mechanism of calculation for the profit tax prepayment, amount of overdue tax liabilities, penalties and change of interest rate. The SRC distributed about 9 bln AMD to the entities in the framework of the support programs provided by the Government program. The framework of the tax revenues was revised by the Government: threshold of the provided 1 trillion 160.1 billion AMD was reduced, 1 trillion 10.8 billion AMD was defined and the actual performance was about 1 trillion 17 billion AMD. Hovhannisyan noted that numerous legislative amendments were implemented related to the almost all types of tax and mandatory payments during 2020 which had an impact on the amount of collecting tax revenues. Taxes for nine months – index of tax-to-GDP ratio was 23.73% which is more from the index for 2019 by 0.12%. “It means that due to the efforts of the tax body in the conditions of economic crisis, and war it was not only reduced, but also the efficiency of the administration was improved. It is also typical to the year,” Edvard Hovhannisyan concluded.
