On February 21, the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport debated in the second reading the legislative package on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Law on Preservation and Use of History and Culture Immovable Monuments and Historical Environment and on Making Addenda to the RA Law on State Registration of Rights towards Property.
As a result of the initiative adoption, it is expected to regulate the legal field of the sphere, to promote the rise of the responsibility towards the cultural activity being carried out in the sphere of history and monuments of culture, essentially contributing to the efficiency of the solution of the problems in the system, as well as the elaboration of the unified state policy in the sphere of the preservation of monuments of history and culture.
The Deputy Minister of Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Alfred Kocharyan informed that after passing it in the first reading the member of the Committee Lilit Galstyan presented a proposal, which was accepted.
The Deputy Minister also informed that during the period from the first to the second reading the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport organized a meeting with the NA deputies and profile specialists, the issues of interest were discussed. The Deputy Minister also informed that related to the sphere of the protection of monuments a new package of amendments is revised aimed at the improvement of the law. “The draft under revision will be submitted to parliament probably until the end of the year,” the Deputy Minister said.
The deputy of the NA Faction Lilit Galstyan proposed her colleagues to postpone the debate of the package and to revise it again, but the author did not accept it.
The Committee endorsed the draft.
The debate of the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the law on Physical Culture and Sport authored by the deputy of the NA Civil Contract Faction Sisak Gabrielyan was postponed up to two months by the author’s proposal.
