Parliament Honours the Memory of the Crime Victims with One-Minute Silence

On October 27 the parliament continued the work of the four-day sittings. The close relatives of the October 27, 1999 crime victims attended the sitting.

Addressing those present the NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan said: “Today is the 11th anniversary of the October 1999 ghastly crime, which first of all ,was an encroachment not only to the lives of the state-political well-known figures, but also a blow to the spine of the statehood.

We lost our devoted sons of the state and people because of tragic events, who with their lives and activities kindly served the country and the society, who had many programmes and inflexibility of implementing them.

Karen Demirchyan, Vazgen Sargsyan, Yuri Bakhshyan, Ruben Miroyan, Mikayel Kotanyan, Armenak Armenakyan, Henrik Abrahamyan, Leonard Petrosyan are the inseparable part of the establishment of our statehood.

Let’s honour their memory with one-minute silence.”

Those present honoured the memory of the crime victims with one-minute silence.

Later the deputies by voting adopted the bills, legislative packages, which were debated on the previous day and ratified one international treaty.

The Speaker of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan proposed to continue the debate of the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda in RA Customs Code, which was interrupted on the previous day.

The Deputy Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Vardan Bostanjyan presented the endorsement in connection with the issue.

The NA deputies expressed views on the bill.

RA Deputy Minister of Finance Suren Karayan in his final speech proposed the deputies to present recommendations in written form to debate during the period from the first reading to the second one.

The MPs debated in the first reading procedure the legislative package envisaging amendments and addenda to RA law on Taxes and in a number of laws presented in legislative initiative by RA Government.

In the final speech the keynote speaker, the Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee adjunct to RA Government Armen Alaverdyan made a proposal to jointly work during the period from the first to the second reading.

Armen Alaverdyan presented in the first reading presented the package of the RA draft laws on Making Amendment and Addendum to RA Law on Taxes, on Amending the RA Law on Compulsory Social Security Payments and on Making Amendments and Addenda to RA Law on Taking in Tax Accounting the Organizations and the Physical Persons and Taking out from the Tax Accounting.

The Parliament debated in the second reading procedure presented by RA Justice Minister Gevorg Danielyan the lgislative package on Making Amendments and Addenda in RA Administrative Procedure Code and on Making Amendments and Addenda in RA Judicial Code.

RA Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan presented in the second reading procedure the draft laws on Making Amendments and Addenda to RA Law on Education and on Making Amendments and Addenda to RA Law on Higher and Post-Higher Specialized Education.

RA Deputy Head of Police Artur Osikyan presented for debate in the second reading procedure the legislative package on Making Amendments and Addenda to RA Law on Service in Police and Amending the RA Law on Approving the Disciplinary Regulations.

The debate of the legislative package will be continued at October 28 of the National Assembly.

At the last hour on Wednesday, according to NA Rules of Procedure, the deputies addressed questions to the members of the Government.
