On April 8 RA NA standing committees convened the next sittings for submitting the endorsements on the draft laws to the National Assembly.

At the sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs presided over by Vardan Bostanjyan the bill on Making Amendments and Addenda to RA Law on Trade marks was debated.

The committee also debated the bills On Amending the RA Law on 2001-2003 State Property Privatization Program and On Amending the RA Law on 2006-2007 State Property Privatization Program, as well as endorsed the package of the bills proposing addenda and amendments on State Non-Commercial Organizations and in a number of laws.

At the sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs presided over Hrayr Karapetyan the bills on Making Amendments and Addenda to RA Law on Approving the Rules of Procedure of the Internal Services of RA Armed Forces and on Making Amendments and Addenda to RA Law on Approving the Rules of Procedure of the RA Armed Forces’ Garrison and Guard Services were debated and endorsed in the second reading.

The NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport presided over by Artak Davtyan in the second reading debated a number of bills, which were endorsed.

The bill on Making Addenda and Amendment to RA Law on General Education submitted by NA deputies Hovik Abrahamyan and Karen Avagyan was debated.

MP Lilit Galstyan submitted for the second reading the draft law On Making Addenda to RA Law on the Bases of Cultural Legislation and the bill On Amending the RA Law On Advertisement.

RA Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan submitted to the parliament for debate in the second reading the improved version of the bill On RA Academy of Sciences.

The NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs at its April 8 sitting presided over by Gagik Minasyan debated and decided to include in the agenda of the upcoming four-day sittings The 2010 Annual Report of the Control Chamber of the Republic of Armenia.

The Committee Chairman expressed willingness to cooperate with the Control Chamber.

At the sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Agriculture and Environment presided over by Khachik Harutyunyan two legislative initiatives were debated.

NA Deputy Vardan Ayvazyan submitted to the committee his proposal to amend the law On Fauna.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture Samvel Galstyan submitted to the committee members the government’s proposal On Making Addendum to the law On Value Added Tax.

The NA Committee on Social Affairs presided over by Hakob Hakobyan debated the bill On Making Amendments and Addenda to the Law On Minimum Basket of the Social Welfare and Maximum Budget of the Social Welfare.

The committee members also debated with the USAID Head and Counselor of the Pension and Labor Market Reforms Program the issue of the legislative amendments emerging during the implementation of the pension reforms.

The NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations presided by Armen Rustamyan debated Protocol N 5 On Amending the Treaty On Russian Military Station in RA Territory between RA and RF of March 16, 1995 between RA and RF signed in Yerevan on August 20, 2010.

RA Deputy Minister of Economy Garegin Melkonyan submitted the agreement On Mutually Establishing Commercial Representations between RA Government and RF Government.

RA Deputy Minister of Finance Suren Karayan submitted to the deputies’ debate the Convention (with enclosed protocol) On Excluding the Incomes and Double Taxation of the Property and Preventing the Tax Evasion between the RA and Republic of Slovenia signed in Yerevan on October 11, 2010.

The agreement On Readmission between RA Government and RF Government (with enclosed protocol) signed in Yerevan on August 20, 2010 was debated.

The draft law On Making Amendment and Addendum to RA Law On Consular Service will be included in the draft agenda of the NA upcoming four-day sittings was debated and endorsed in the second reading procedure.

At the sitting of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs , which was presiding over the deputy chairman of the committee Artyush Shahbazyan, the RA draft law On Public Service was debated in the second reading procedure.

The NA Standing Committee on Health Care, Maternity and Childhood presided over by Ara Babloyan, debated in the second reading the package of the bills On Donoring of Human Blood and Its Components and Transfusion Medical Aid, On Making Addenda to RA Law On RA Honorable Titles and On Making Addendum to RA Law On Organizing and Conducting Check-Ups in RA.

The bills On Amending the RA Law On Preventing the Illness Caused from HIV, On Making Addendum the RA Law On Transplanting Human Organs and (or) Tissues and Amending the RA Law On Transplanting Human Organs and (or) Tissues.

At the sittings of the committees the debate of a number of laws was postponed.
