If we cannot ensure the security of the Syunik borders, we cannot defend Karabakh, the deputy of the Civil Contract Faction, the Chair of the Standing Committee On State and Legal Affairs Vladimir Vardanyan noted during the meeting with the students of the For Equal Rights Educational Center NGO, who visited the parliament on a cognitive visit on June 16.
The meeting took place in the format of analytical lecture and Q&A session.
The students addressed question on the process of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement. Presenting the story and the external factors of the conflict, the deputy mentioned that since 1988 serious changes have been made in the region and the world, which had great impact on the process of the conflict settlement. According to Vladimir Vardanyan, today, in the conditions of the conflict settlement procedure, the most important part of the legislative body of the Republic of Armenia is ensuring the security of the state.
Describing the international situation of the conflict, the MP touched upon the fact that a number of circumstances exist, which were predictable, and one of them is the direct involvement and participation of Turkey in the conflict.
The young lawyers were also interested in the process of the constitutional reforms in Armenia. Interconnecting the above-mentioned two important issues, the Committee Chair referred to the omissions and problems of the process and stated there is a lot to do. He expressed hope that in the near future it will be possible to hand over for the citizens’ judgments certain proposals related to the Constitution.
The MP answered with love the students’ other questions also and gave a series of advice.
