On November 5, the member of the RA NA Civil Contract Faction and the Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs Artur Hovhannisyan met with the students of the RA Public Administration Academy. For a period of one month, they conduct their research practice in the legislative body of the country.
The meeting was held in the format of Q&A.
The students spoke about parliamentary government model of Armenia. According to Artur Hovhannisyan, that system of government will be effective in case of having ideologically developed parties. In this context, he highlighted the representation of the opposition forces in parliament. The deputy has informed that he is a supporter of the semi-presidential system of government.
Touching upon the issue that whether Armenia is democratic country, the deputy has expressed conviction that every day our country becomes more democratic.
The students of the Administration Academy also voiced the issue on amending the RA Constitution, in response to which the member of the Civil Contract Faction noted that the issue was not included in the agenda. According to him, an amendment can be made only after large-scale public discussions. “The Constitution should become the RA citizen’s table book,” the deputy concluded.
