At November 12 sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, the RA Deputy Minister of Environment Gayane Gabrielyan in the first reading debated the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Law on Fauna and the package of the enclosed draft laws.
The decrease of each number of species of wild animal or moreover, their disappearance causes serious damage to the protective function of the biosphere and breaches the food links and mutual influences of the ecosystem. The executive body proposes to ban by law the use of the wild animals՛ species included in the list and approved by the authorized body.
Responsibility will be applied by the addenda envisaged in the Code related to the Administrative Offences, and the proposed amendment to the Tax Code will stipulate a basis in order to charge fees for the use of natural resources for certain species of fauna. For amateur purposes, people of retirement age will be given the privilege of fishing for free.
A state duty will be established to issue permits for the export and import of wild animals, animal collections and individual specimens by the addenda envisaged in the Law on State Duty. State duty will also be established for the permission to keep wild animals in none free and semi-free conditions, including animals registered in the RA Red Book.
