Committee Votes for the Draft: It is Proposed to Set 75.000 AMD Minimum Salary

The Government proposes to set the amount of the minimum salary 75.000 AMD instead of 68.000 AMD from January 1, 2023.Regarding the issue, it is proposed to change the minimum amount of the hourly tariff rate of the workers being paid on a fee or hourly basis. The RA Deputy Minister Labor and Social Affairs Ruben Sargsyan informed about this, presenting for debate in the first reading the legislative package on Amending the Law on Minimum Monthly Salary and on Making Amendments and Addendum to the RA Labor Code.

The draft was endorsed by the Committee.

The Committee also debated in the first reading the legislative package on Making Addenda and Amendments to the Law on State Benefits and on Amending the Law on State Pensions.

The Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Davit Khachatryan informed, the adoption of the draft law on Making Addenda and Amendments to the law on State Benefits is conditioned by the necessity of the family, social benefits, as well as the improvement process of the urgent aid money payment process and the reduction of the state budget means expenditures. The package proposes to carry out the payments of the family and social benefits, as well as the urgent aid money from January1, 2023 in the cities and in rural settlements with more than 1000 people, and in 2024 – in the villages with up to 1000 inhabitants in a non-cash way.

The Committee endorsed this draft.

The drafts approved by the NA Standing Committee on Labor and Social Affairs on November 4 will be included in the draft agenda of the fourth session of the NA eighth convocation.
