Budgetary Allocations for 2023 of High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Commission on Television and Radio and Council of Public TV and Radio Company Debated

498 million 89.312 AMD was designed for the Project Armenia-Diaspora Cooperation being implemented by the Office High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, and 125 million 248.000 AMD for the implementation of the Project Engagement of Diaspora Potential in the RA Development Process. 623 million 331.312 AMD was designed for two projects: The High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs at the RA Prime Minister’s Staff Zareh Sinanyan said about this. The details of the programs Step towards Home, Diaspora Youth Ambassador, iGorts, Engagement of Diaspora in the RA Development Processes, which are aimed at the preservation of Armenian identity, the effective realization of the Diaspora Armenians’ potential (NerUzh) and raising the problems of the Armenian communities were presented.

According to Zareh Sinanyan, in case of approving the new bid on the program Step towards Home, the sum of the budgetary bid for 2023 of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs will be 709 million 292.312 AMD.

The Chairman of the Commission on Television and Radio Tigran Hakobyan noted that 374 million 132.000 AMD is designed to allocate to the Commission in 2023, 35 million growth compared with 2020 is conditioned by the rise of salary. Two programs will be implemented.

As Tigran Hakobyan assured, the expenditures of the Commission on Television and Radio designed by the state budget for 2023 are directed to the program in the regulation of the audiovisual media of the Commission, and its goal is to ensure freedom, independence and diversity of the broadcasting media, the control and the regulation of the audiovisual sphere, which is aimed at the final outcome – high level of freedom, independence, diversity of the broadcasting media, competitive equal conditions, the decrease of the violations of law in the audiovisual sphere, preservation of copyright and providing adequate development of the sphere.

The Chairman of the Council of Public TV and Radio Company Ara Shirinyan mentioned that by the draft state budget for 2023 it is designed to allocate 7.676.2 million AMD on the Public Broadcaster’s Council, which 41 million more from the amount of the sum allocated in 2021. 11 billion AMD will be allocated to the Public TV Company.

The goal of the project Broadcast of the Radio and TV Programs is to provide the production and broadcast of various information, cognitive, educational, entertainment, TV and Radio programs. In the air of the Channel 1 of the Public TV Company will be 3030 hours, in the air of the first programs of the Public Radio Company will be 4205 hours for new programs, and in the air of the Public TV Company – preparing and broadcasting of 55 various program series.

The budgetary allocations for 2023 of the spheres of science, education, culture, Diaspora, youth, sport and information were debated at the joint sitting of the NA Standing Committees on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs.
