On March 16, the NA Vice President Hermine Naghdalyan met with the PABSEC Secretary General Asaf Hajiyev, who visited Armenia within the framework of the 46^th Meeting of the PABSEC Economic, Commercial, Technological and Environmental Affairs Committee.

Welcoming the guest Hermine Naghdalyan has noted that the PABSEC, the format of the activities of which is aimed at the strengthening of the economic cooperation, is the best basis for the discussion and solution of  the disputable problems between the peoples. Mrs Naghdalyan highlighted the implementation of the joint programs within the PABSEC framework, which in its turn can have a positive influence on more deepening of cooperation in different spheres between the countries joining the organization.

In her word the Vice President has underlined that there is necessity of boosting and expanding the investments for the development of the sub-structures of the region, especially in the energy and transport spheres. In this context he has added that the cultural, educational, scientific programs can be of importance. To Mrs Naghdalyan’s conviction, it is only possible to form a field of mutual trust due to regional cooperation, which can also be a basis for political dialogue.

The NA Vice President expressed confidence that the meetings and discussions in such format give wide opportunity to the MPs for making joint decisions directed to the solution of different regional problems.

Touching upon the works of the PABSEC Committee Meeting, the NA Vice President has underlined that the issues related to refugees and migration, which today are a challenge for the whole mankind, will be discussed at the Meeting.

Thanking for the warm reception Mr Hajiyev presented the issues regarding the PABSEC works.

Touching upon the updating the PABSEC Declaration, he expressed hope that Armenia will sign it. In her turn the NA Vice President Hermine Naghdalyan noted that she will get familiarized with the provisions of the Declaration and will discuss the issue with the PABSEC Armenian Delegation.

In the course of the meeting other issues were also discussed.
