The debate of the draft on Making Addenda to the law on Normative Legal Acts continued at the NA sitting on June 14.
The deputy of the Civil Contract Faction Sona Ghazaryan inquired from the Deputy Minister of Justice Ara Mkrtchyan whether there is a roadmap and assessment, what scope of expertise will be carried out by the Ministry of Justice, in response to which the Deputy Minister noted that every legal and legislative act subject to approximation will be carried out in the relevant institution, not in the Ministry of Justice. The Ministry will only carry out an examination to what extent the approximation process complies with the EU legislation.
The co-rapporteur, the member of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Arusyak Julhakyan also mentioned that the RA is trying to bring its legislation closer to the EU legislation.
“It is clear that there should be a body that should exercise control over the approximation process, assuring that the approximation is carried out in accordance with the EU legislation. This draft is about giving such authority to the Ministry of Justice,” the deputy stated and added that the draft was debated in the relevant Committee and was endorsed.
Parliament adopted all the legislative initiatives debated the previous day by voting.
According to the decision of the National Assembly, the second reading debate of some drafts adopted today in the first reading will be carried out in a special procedure within twenty-four hours.
