At November 10 sitting of the RA NA Stranding Committee on Economic Affairs, the draft law on Making Amendment and Addenda to the RA Law on Automobile Transport and the package of the enclosed ones was debated in the first reading.
According to the RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Armen Simonyan, the purpose of the legislative package is to create equal competitive conditions for the implementation of passenger transportations from the territory of the airport and to ensure proper quality for tourists. The Deputy Minister has added that the amendments only refer to the work of taxis for people. A requirement for A license category to implement passenger transportation from the airport parking for taxis is set, the state duty of which is 200.000 AMD. Requirements for car furniture, appearance, age restrictions were also set: it is forbidden to drive a car over the age of seven. The implementation of passenger transportation from the airport parking without a license will be fined 50 times the minimum salary.
“Except regulating the part of the airport, it would be desirable to have a complete regulation related to the taxi services,” the Deputy Chair of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Babken Tunyan.
The legislative package was endorsed.
