Armenia joins the initiative of creating a joint system of connection of the CIS Armed Forces signed in Moscow on May 29, 2020. The Deputy Minister of Defense Arman Sargsyan informed about this, presenting the draft law on Ratifying the Agreement on Joint (United) System of Connection of the Armed Forces of the CIS Member States.
The Agreement, in general, relates to the telephone communication and video conference, will ensure the security, and the technical upgrading of the armies will increase. It also refers to the cooperation between the General Staffs of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation.
The Governments of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Russia signed the Agreement.
Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Moldova and Azerbaijan did not join the document.
Armenia joined the Agreement with one reservation, according to which, our country will make a decision on spreading the provisions of the document towards the states, which joined it after May 29, 2020.
The NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security endorsed the Agreement.
