Parliament Passes a Number of Bills

The National Assembly began the April 28 sitting with voting passing the legislative initiatives and international agreements, which it debated on the previous day. Within the framework of Open Doors programme this time the senior classes and their teachers of the schools of Lori Marz took part in NA sittings.

The Speaker of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan said that the deputy of the Country of Law Stepan Aslanyan gave an application on stopping ahead of schedule his parliamentary powers.

Afterwards the parliament passed to the debate of the agenda issues. The Deputy Head of RA Police Artur Osipyan proposed to pass in the second reading and completely the draft law on Making Amendments and Addendum to the law on Police Service.

The Vice Speaker of the National Assembly Samvel Nikoyan presented to the legislators the package envisaging addenda to the law on Legal Acts and Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly.

The deputies were proposed to pass in the third reading and completely on Goods Trademarks and the package of the three draft laws, the initiative of the government on amending the law on 2001-2003 Programme of the State Property Privatization.

The Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Vache Gabrielyan with the relevant legislative amendments the draft law On Compulsory Insurance of the Responsibility Emanating from the Use of the Transport Means in the procedure of the second reading.

The Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Jemma Baghdasaryan presented the UN Convention On the Rights of the Persons with Disabilities (with rejections). The MP Shirak Torosyan presented the endorsement of the Committee on Foreign Relations on joining the Convention.

At the end of the last sitting, according to the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, the MPs asked questions to the members of the government.

The National Assembly will continue its four-day sittings on April 29.
