The NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport debated the draft law on Making Addenda and Amendments to the Law on Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activity at the extraordinary sitting in the second reading on May 3.
According to the RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan, there were two written proposals by the deputy Narek Babayan during the period from the first to the second reading. They referred to the definition of the grounds for terminating the authority of a person appointed to the position of Head of a scientific organization or chosen as a result of an election: the proposals were adopted by the Government and added to the draft law.
The Minister mentioned that as a result of the debates, before the second reading, clauses 2, 3, 4 of Article 4, which referred to the National Academy of Sciences, were removed from the draft law. She informed that some editorial amendments were also made.
The Committee endorsed the draft law.
