Maria Karapetyan’s question refers to fight against drugs and recent incident in one of clubs
During the National Assembly-Government Q&A session, the deputy of the NA Civil Contract Faction Maria Karapetyan touched upon the press publication, according to which the Investigative Committee and Police officers searched one of the night clubs on April 23 by the decision of the pre-investigative body, arrested 41 persons and moved them to the central police department. The deputy inquired about the amount of drugs found as a result of that operation.
The Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan informed that the officers of the relevant police department conducted search in the club mentioned by the deputy within the framework of the criminal proceedings and 4 out of the 41 citizens brought to the relevant police department were found with different types of drugs.
“An official investigation was appointed by the Chief of police, and criminal proceedings were initiated in connection with the incident today. The official investigation will be suspended until the preliminary investigation is completed,” the Minister of Internal Affairs noted and added that the legality of the actions will be clarified by the preliminary investigation and the official investigation.
