1 / 17

On May 1 the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan took part in the tree planting organized by the Youth Parliament in the territory adjacent to Yerablur Pantheon.

Before starting the tree planting Hovik Abrahamyan laid flowers on the tombs of the National Hero Vazgen Sargsyan, the commander Andranik, and at the memorial perpetrating the memory of the Armenian freedom fighters.

On April 26 during the meeting with the NA President the members of the Youth Parliament applied to Hovik Abrahamyan with the proposal of creating “Youth Parliament Park.” Approving the proposal the NA President promised to support the young parliamentarians in all possible ways.

The organized tree planting was the first step that was done in that direction. 150 fir trees were planted.

The NA President Hovik Abrahamyan personally planted 16 fir trees.

During the talk with the journalists, noting the importance of tree planting and creating green areas, the Head of the Parliament said: “I highlight the moment from the two viewpoints: first, we do the tree planting with young people, second, the creation of the new park in the area adjacent to Yerablur Pantheon is a tribute to the memory of our freedom fighters.”

Hovik Abrahamyan also emphasized the fact that the representatives of the young wings of different political forces were taking part in the tree planting, which creates an atmosphere of solidarity and tolerance. “Today a basis for good tradition is laid down,” the NA President said.

The NA Vice President Hermine Naghdalyan, Chairs of the Standing Committees of the parliament, deputies were also taking part in the tree planting.
