RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan Receives the Ambassador of Switzerland

On May 23 the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan received Konstantin Obolensky, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Swiss Confederation to the RA on the completion of his diplomatic mission.

The NA President documented with satisfaction that during the last years the Armenian-Swiss relations had registered unprecedented development, due to which an atmosphere of deep mutual trust and understanding characteristic to friendly countries had been formed between the two countries. Hovik Abrahamyan thanked the Ambassador for the effective work, due to which the Armenian-Swiss relations had been developed and deepened. Mr Abrahamyan highlighted the inter-parliamentary relations, which were inseparable part of inner-state relations and noted that good preconditions of development had been created both of bilateral relations and in international structures. He emphasized the unbiased position adopted by Switzerland in the negotiation process of the NK problem settlement.

The Ambassador Obolensky thanked the NA President for the four-year effective cooperation, highlighting the further reinforcement and development of the Armenian-Swiss partnership. He deemed necessary the further deepening of inter-parliamentary relations, which had an important role in the development of inner-state relations. According to him, good unique relations had been shaped between the parliaments of the two countries, which greatly promoted also the official visit of the NA President Hovik Abrahamyan to Switzerland. The Ambassador also highlighted the cooperation in international structures.

In the course of the meeting other issues were also discussed.
