On May 17 the head of the RPA faction, Armenia-Iran Friendship Group Galust Sahakyan received the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) to the Republic of Armenia Seyed Ali Saghayan.

Ambassador Seyed Ali Saghayan conveyed to Galust Sahakyan the greetings of the head of Iran-Armenian Friendship Parliamentary Group Arsalan Fati Puri and the invitation to Armenia-Iran Friendship Group for visiting the IRI on a mutual visit.

Highly assessing the relations of different levels created between two countries, the interlocutors considered necessary to make closer and expand the inter-parliamentary relations, promote the implementation of the agreements achieved beforehand.

Highly assessing the visit of RA NA Speaker to Iran the IRI Ambassador to Armenia Seyed Ali Saghayan said that during the visit, according to the speakers of the parliaments of the two countries, working groups have been set up, which will cooperate in the spheres of foreign relations, economy, education and culture.

The head of the RPA faction Galust Sahayan touched upon the Armenian-Turkish relations, the problem of the Karabakh conflict settlement and noted that the neighbouring Azerbaijan continued to aggravate the situation and did its best to fail the procedure of peaceful negotiations.

Galust Sahakyan once again documented that Armenia expected the settlement of the conflict within the OSCE Minsk Group and exclusively through peaceful diplomatic way.

In this and other regional problems Mr Sahakyan highlighted the balanced role of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
