On May 23 the regular four-day sittings of the National Assembly began with the approval of the session and the four-day sittings.
Speaker of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan welcomed the students of the schools of different communities of Kotayk Marz, who were attending the sitting within the framework of the NA Open Doors Policy framework.
The deputies of the National Assembly ended the debate of the bills’ package on Making Addendum to RA Law on Medical Aid and Supply of the Population and on Making Addendum in RA Code on Administrative Infringements, which was interrupted in the previous sitting.
The National Assembly also debated the bills’ package proposing amendments and addenda in RA Criminal Code, in RA Code on Administrative Infringements and in RA Criminal Judicial Code, presented in the second reading, the edited version of the bill on Amending the RA Criminal Judicial Code was debated in the first and second reading.
The National Assembly passed by voting the packages of two bills, as well as the bills debated in the previous four-day sittings.
The NA deputies debated RA Electoral Code presented in the second reading, which submitted the co-author of the bill Davit Harutyunyan.
Ara Simonyan presented the view of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs.
Armen Rustamyan presented the view of the ARF faction. According to his assessment, if the Electoral Code is passed in this shape, the public trust towards elections won’t be restored and an opportunity of changing power won’t be created. With this consciousness the ARF faction presented main proposals, which had not been passed by the authors of the bill.
Presenting the view of the RPA faction Galust Sahkyan noticed that their party had chosen its passing path with conscience of responsibility. Mr Sahakyan announced that their political force would vote for the Electoral Code.
The debate of the issue will continue at May 24 sitting of the National Assembly.
