Parliament Continues the Work of the Four-Day Sittings

On May 24 the National Assembly continued the work of the four-day sittings.

By the NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan’s proposal the deputies welcomed a group of the YSU lecturers and students following the work of the parliament in the NA hall.

The co-author of the package of the bill of the RA Electoral Code and related bills Davit Harutyunyan ended the presentation of the package being under debate in the second reading from the previous day. The parliament passed the legislative package with 76 for, 12 against co-relation in the second reading.

RA Minister of Justice Hrayr Tovmasyan submitted for debate in the first reading the draft law “On Making Amendments and Addenda in the RA Judicial Code.”

The RA Minister of Justice submitted for debate the draft law “On Making Amendments and Addendum to the RA Law On Civil Status Acts.”

The bill “On Making Addendum in the RA Civil Procedure Code” was submitted for debate in the second reading.

Hrayr Tovmasyan submitted for debate the bill “On Amending the RA Law On Compulsory Enforcement of Court Decrees” and the bill “On Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Law On Notary Office.”

The bill “On Making Addendum to the RA Law On Conscription” was also submitted for debate in the second reading.

In connection with the problem the NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan raised a question if this amendment related to the youth studying in other countries, Hrayr Tovmasyan noted that the amendment would only relate to the boys studying in the general schools of the Republic of Armenia, and in this provisions did not relate to the boys being and studying in other countries.

The NA Speaker proposed the reporters of the bill to comprehensively study this problem.

The RA Minister of Justice submitted for debate the package of bills envisaging amendments to the bill “On Public Service” and in two related bills in the second reading.

The parliament debated the bill “On Amending the RA Criminal Code” in the first reading.

The NA deputy Artak Davtyan submitted for debate in the first reading the package of bills “On Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Law On Advertisement” and “On Making Addendum to the RA Law On Television and Radio.”

The NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan proposed to spread the ban of advertisement during the programme on the spiritual-cultural TV channel of the Public Television and Radio Company, which the co-author of the bills Artak Davtyan considered admissible.

The deputies debated in the second reading the package of bills “On Making Addenda to the RA Law On Profit Tax” and “On Making Amendments and Addendum to the RA Law on Value Added Tax,” which was presented the RA Minister of Finance Vache Gabrielyan.

The RA Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan submitted for debate in the second reading the bill “On Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Law On Stock Exchange Companies.”

The parliament debated in the third reading the package of the bills envisaging amendments to the bill “On Free Economic Zones” and in related bills.

The RA Minister of Economy presented for debate in the first reading the package of bills amending the RA Law “On Organizing and Conducting Audits in the Republic of Armenia” and “On Amending the RA Law On Operative-Intelligence Activity.”

The RA Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Nerses Yeritzyan tabled the amendment to debate in the second reading the package of bills “On Amending the RA Law On Electronic Communication” and “On Amending the Activity of the Credit Information Circulation and Credit Bureaus,” on which the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gagik Minasyan presented the endorsement.

At the end of the day the deputies made announcement in accordance with the NA Rules of Procedure.
