Highest Authorities of Armenia Visited the Sardarapat Memorial Complex

On the occasion of the Republic Day, the Battle of Sardarapat and the 93rd Anniversary of the Declaration of the First Republic of Armenia on May 28 the RA President Serzh Sargsyan, His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, the Speaker of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan, the Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, representatives of legislative and executive powers, other officials and foreign diplomats accredited in the Republic of Armenia visited the Sardarapat Memorial Complex.

The highest authorities of the country laid a wreath at the memorial eternalizing the memory of the Sardarapat Battle heroes and paid tribute to the memory of the heroic battle victims.

His Holiness conducted the Repose of Souls Service, offering a prayer for the May heroic battles victim Armenian sons’ rest in peace.

Afterwards, the high-ranking guests visited the complex of Sardarapat State Museum of Ethnography and History of the National Liberation Struggle of Armenia and then took part in the all-national joy. The May 28 turned into a real festivity with laid tables, singing and dancing, and with the participation of residents from different marzes of the republic, Diaspora Armenians, foreigners.
