Farewell Visit of the U.S. Ambassador to the RA to the National Assembly

On May 26 the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan received the U.S. Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the RA Mrs Marie Yovanovitch on the occasion of the completion of her diplomatic mission in Armenia.

The RA NA President thanked the Ambassador for effective work and documented with satisfaction that during the years of her tenure the relations of the two countries more developed and deepened, as a result of which, programs were carried out in the parliament and they also promoted the compliance of Armenia's  legislation to the international standards. Hovik Abrahamyan noted that there was a big potential for further development and strengthening of the relations between Armenia and the USA, and in this respect he also highlighted the activation of the inter-parliamentary cooperation.

Ambassador Yovanovitch thanked for effective cooperation, highlighting the further strengthening of the Armenian-American partnership. She also considered necessary the activation of the inter-parliamentary relations, which had an important role in the development of the inner-state relations. The Ambassador highly appreciated the open debates on the laws being organized in the National Assembly during the last years.

During the meeting the sides touched upon other issues of bilateral interest, too.

In the end Hovik Abrahamyan wished successes to the Ambassador in her further activity, expressing confidence that she would always remain Armenia’s friend.
