On November 23, at Tavrichesky Palace and the CIS Armenian Representation of Saint Petersburg the RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov awarded the representative of the Saint Petersburg Armenian Community Sargis Poghosyan the RA NA Speaker Memorial Medal,and Arsen Movsesyan, Vahram Zakaryan, Karen Mkrtchyan, Arfenya Ter-Minasova, Hrachya Poghosyan, Vahagn Babayan and Armen Karapetyan - the RA NA Diplomas.

The RA NA Deputy Speaker highlighted the role of the Armenians of Saint Petersburg in strengthening of Motherland-Diaspora ties, preservation and dissemination of the Armenian culture.

He said in particular: “With your patriotic activities you proved that patriotism is, first of all, a work. We are grateful that each of you has been next to the Motherland and for living with the problems of the Motherland. It is impossible to forget Sargis Poghosyan’s activities, who left for Artsakh to carry out military duty from the first moment of the four-day war. Your initiative was the vivid manifestation of the Armenian people’s collective will.”
