Congratulating Vyacheslav Volodin, the NA Deputy Speaker expressed hope that during the years of his leadership the Armenian-Russian inter-parliamentary relations will record new development. The sides highlighted the allied nature of the Armenian-Russian relations, to which Armenia’s membership to the Eurasian Economic Union gave a new quality. Touching upon the Armenian-Russian relations, the NA Deputy Speaker noted the necessity of the coordianted work of the parliamentary delegations in the international platforms. During the meeting the sides also touched upon the regional problems.
Eduard Sharmazanov particularly noted: “We highlight the preservation of peace and stability in our region. Despite the agreements reached in Vienna and Saint Petersburg, Azerbaijan ignores them, and continues escalating the situation in the line of contact with its destructive and anti-Armenian actions. Everybody should understand that the peaceful settlement of the problem has no alternative, and nothing can force the Artsakh people to retreat from the aspiration of living in independent and free Motherland.”
Both sides emphasized exclusively the peaceful means of the Karabakh conflict settlement.
The RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov considered necessary to adhere to the principles of the CSTO Council Yerevan Declaration, where any phenomenon of escalation of the situation had been inadmissible.
