On November 24, in Tavricheskiy Palace of Saint Petersburg the work of the Autumn Session of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (IPA) of the CIS began, where the RA NA Delegation, led by the NA Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan, took part. The Chair of the NA Standing Committee on European Integration Naira Zohrabyan, the NA deputies Rubik Hakobyan, Hayk Babukhanyan, Armen Avetisyan and Araik Hovhannisyan are in the Delegation.

On November 24, the sittings of the IPA CIS Permanent Commissions on Political Issues and International Cooperation, on Science and Education, on Legal Issues, on Agrarian Policy, Natural Resources and Ecology, on Practices of State Building and Local Government were held.

The Head of the Armenian Delegation, the Deputy Chair of the Permanent Commission on Political Issues and International Cooperation Hermine Naghdalyan and the RA NA Deputy Rubik Hakobyan took part in the sitting of the abovementioned Commission. A number of agenda items, including the Deputy Chairs of the Commission, the organizational and other items concerning the IPA CIS 45^th Plenary Sitting, and numerous documents debated.

The Chair of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Political Issues and International Cooperation was reelected the RA NA Deputy Chair Hermine Naghdalyan. The item on the CIS 25^th anniversary and on CIS harmonization to the modern realities was also included in the agenda of the sitting.

On the same day the sitting of the IPA CIS Council was held, where the NA Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan took part. The IPA CIS Council Chairperson Valentina Matvienko moderated the sitting of the Council. Hermine Naghdalyan, who was the Coordinator of the Observation Group made a report on the item of the CIS Observation Group Conclusion of the Monitoring of the Constitution Referendum held in the Republic of Tajikistan on May 22 included in the sitting agenda among other items.

The RA NA Deputy Speaker, the Head of the Delegation Hermine Naghdalyan underlined that the referendum was held with great activeness, meetings took place with the parliamentarians of the two Chambers of the Majlisi of the Republic of Tajikistan and the elaborators of the draft law of the Constitution amendments. The Observation Group visited more than 80 electoral districts.

The RA NA Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan, as Coordinator of the Observation Group, thanked the leadership of the parliaments of the IPA CIS member states for including experienced and professional observers in the Group, due to whom the monitoring of the referendum was succeeded to hold at the highest level.

The Chair of the NA Standing Committee on European Integration Naira Zohrabyan took part at the sitting of the IPA CIS Permanent Commissions on Legal Issues.

The RA NA deputy, the Deputy Chair of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Science and Education Hayk Babukhanyan made a report on the decision of the Young Scientists’ Cooperation of the CIS Member States at the sitting of the same Commission. The model law was included in the agenda of the 45^th plenary sitting.

The NA deputy Armen Avetisyan took part in the sitting of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Agrarian Policy, Natural Resources and Ecology. Model draft laws, as well as the item on holding of Nevsky International Ecological Eighth Forum were debated at the sitting of the Commission.

The NA deputy Araik Hovhannisyan took part in the sitting of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Practices of State Building and Local Government. Numerous model draft laws, as well as the Agreement on Inter-Regional Cooperation of the CIS Member States were included in the sitting agenda.

On the same day, in Tavricheskiy Palace of Saint Petersburg a meeting with the heads of the parliaments of the Eurasian Union countries was held, where the RA NA Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan took part. At the meeting issues concerning the Eurasian economic perspectives and the deepening of the EEU countries’ cooperation were discussed.

The works of the of the Autumn Session of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (IPA) of the CIS will continue on November 25 at the IPA CIS 45^th plenary sitting and will end with the summarizing press conference.
